Location

Strategic site location is the key to success. Where appropriate, location in terms of proximity to schools, the CBD, recreational amenities, services, transport networks, commercial and retail outlets etc are all important. Characteristics which determine a strategic location may include environmental enhancement capabilities, view, water, slope, aspect, geographical features, and the like.
Market

We utilise local real estate statistics and expertise to determine where developments should take place; and how and when product should be released to the market.
Spatial Patterns
An important part of the initial feasibility study takes into account the surrounding community. It examines aspects such as demographics, product mix, recreational amenities, shops etc, and investigates if and where development should next occur, and whether any other developments are planned.
Product
EDL not only strives to deliver a quality product, but one that is distinctive, creating special environments for both living and working through clever and innovative design. Materials and workmanship are consistently of the highest standard and must surpass all local body and regional regulatory requirements.
Environment
We honor our motto: Enhancing Our Environment. EDL’s primary focus is based on minimising environmental impacts, while enhancing the environment. This may range from creating heritage parks within developed areas, to fencing and protecting wetlands. We believe that our developments must leave the land in an improved environmental state. EDL places considerable emphasis on environmental impact analysis, taking into account site rehabilitation, protection of flora and fauna, archeological site protection, wetland protection and enhancement, visual aesthetics and sustainable land management. Assistance from associated professional bodies or persons is always sought for guidance and consultancy purposes.
Iwi Consultation

EDL is extremely proud of its well established relationships with local iwi. We value iwi consultation and regard it as an important aspect of our business. EDL strives to establish and maintain links with iwi from the onset through verifying which iwi is related to, or has ties with regional land. Once we ascertain the iwi with whom we should have contact, we notify them of our intentions. This process is vital as it opens the door to amicable and honest communication, and is crucial to acknowledging the tangata whenua and creating meaningful iwi/developer relations.
Financial Analysis

Having regard to the above factors, EDL then completes a financial feasibility analysis. This feasibility ensures our customers can purchase an end product at optimum value in relation to the benefits gained.
